UPrint RIP: the next-generation print workflow
Lindsay Lubbe, ARTthatROXCustomer, Cape Town
Best for: print studios, garment decorators, and DTF and specialty printers tired of juggling several software packages.
Every now and then a new product arrives with a completely different approach to getting the work done. UPrint RIP is that kind of product. It combines file preparation, costing and production into one seamless workflow that works right alongside your printer’s own software.
What it fixes
- Printer and ICC profile freedom. Add several printer types and upload your own standard or custom-built .icc colour profiles for accurate, repeatable colour.
- Mac and Windows. Work on either macOS or Windows. (Roll DTF prints through PrintExp, which runs on a Windows PC.)
- Fixing client artwork in one place. It inspects client artwork on import and gives a report on the file’s shortcomings with suggested fixes. Upscaling, background removal, vectorisation and colour swapping sit inside the same software you print from, with no app-switching. (Vector tracing is in Design RIP.)
- Costing and client mock-ups. It works out detailed print costs to help you price jobs, and makes mock-ups you can send to your client for approval.
- AI artwork with your own API key, without inflated monthly credit subscriptions.
Support
Responsive service and training videos make the switch smooth and straightforward.
