These terms apply when you buy or use UPrint RIP software.
1. Who we are
UPrint Global CC (“UPrint”, “we”, “us”), registration 2010/068307/23, based in Durban, South Africa. Reach us at support@uprintsoftware.com or through the contact form.
2. What you are buying
A licence to use UPrint RIP software on your own computer. The software is sold in two editions, UPrint Studio RIP and UPrint Design RIP, and is delivered as a download for Microsoft Windows, and UPrint Design RIP also for Apple macOS. You are buying a licence to use it, not ownership of the software itself.
3. Your licence
- Two computers per licence. Your order code runs on two computers in your own business at the same time, and locks to each computer you activate it on. You can reinstall on those computers any time using the same code. To move the licence to a different computer, contact us. A free trial runs on one computer.
- Changing computer. If that machine fails or you replace it, contact us with your order code and we will move your licence across.
- Do not share your code. A code will not activate a second machine, and sharing it does not give anyone else a licence.
4. Subscriptions and perpetual licences
- Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and the software keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- A perpetual licence is yours to keep for the edition you bought. Software updates are included for the period shown on your licence.
- Prices are shown in US dollars. Tax is calculated at checkout based on your country.
5. Free trial
You can try the software free for 7 days on one computer. No card is needed. When the 7 days end, the software locks until you buy a plan; your files stay on your computer. One free trial per computer and per email address.
6. AI artwork and the AI assistant use your own account
The AI artwork feature runs on your own OpenAI or xAI (Grok) account using an API key you provide, and the AI assistant runs on your own OpenAI account the same way. You pay OpenAI or xAI directly for what you use, typically a few cents per image. We do not supply those credits, do not mark them up, and do not meter your usage. Your use of OpenAI or xAI is subject to their terms. AI upscaling and AI cut-out need no key.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, resell, rent or redistribute the software or your licence code.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to defeat the licensing in the software.
- Use the software to produce material that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else’s copyright or trade marks. You are responsible for the artwork you print.
We may suspend a licence that is being used in breach of these terms.
8. Payments and merchant of record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Polar Software, Inc. (polar.sh). Polar Software, Inc. is the Merchant of Record for our software orders in US dollars. Polar handles payment, tax and the receipt for every order.
This means Polar, not UPrint, is the seller of record for your software purchase. Polar collects payment, charges any applicable sales tax or VAT for your country, and issues your receipt and invoice. Your payment card details are handled by Polar and its payment processor and are never seen or stored by us.
Paying in Rand in South Africa. A South African business can instead pay in Rand on this website. That order is sold by UPrint Global CC (VAT number 4620255978), not by Polar. The price includes 15% VAT, the card payment is processed by Paystack, and UPrint Global CC issues your tax invoice. Your card details are handled by Paystack and are never seen or stored by us.
9. Refunds
Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
10. Availability and liability
The software runs on your own computer, so it does not depend on our servers to keep working day to day. Activation, licence renewal and support do use our systems, and we do not guarantee those are available without interruption.
We provide the software as it is described on this website. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the software is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects the statutory rights of a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the software after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in.
